Beyond the Classroom Experience

Diversity & Inclusion: Why It Matters!

Date/Time: Friday, June 12th, 2021 at 11:00am, ZOOM

Going to college or university means participating in the classes and joining the general campus environment with people from different races, creeds, ethnicities, national origins, religions, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, socio-economic statuses, and disabilities. Diversity embraces all human differences while building on commonalities. It also serves to eliminate discrimination and exclusion based on the above. Diversity is the way of the future and here is your sneak peek into what it means for you and your college experience. The aim of this session will be to help you appreciate how having experiences, perspectives, and cultural competencies to operate in an increasingly diverse environment, helps in fostering positive and mutually supportive relationships within the community during college life.
